It was a packed house last Wednesday at the Capital Club in Dubai with over 100 investors gathering for the Eureeca Suhoor Pitch Night, which featured pitches from five entrepreneurs campaigning on eureeca.com.

The night began with a compelling keynote address by Eureeca Deputy Chairman Dr. Nasser Saidi. In his address, Dr. Saidi highlighted the region’s socio-economic need for SME growth, especially with regard to job creation, and the dearth of viable SME financing options available to MENA entrepreneurs.
He also discussed the significant financial returns that can be generated by investing in early-stage businesses and SMEs. He concluded the speech by advocating for equity crowdfunding to serve as a vehicle for helping regional SMEs to secure the funding they require to keep growing and regional investors to tap into this exciting asset class.

And then the pitches began. Each entrepreneur had five minutes to pitch their business to the attending investors, who could then grill the entrepreneurs about why they should be investing. The businesses that pitched included:
