November 19th marked Women’s Entrepreneurship Day, a UN-sanctioned day of celebrating and supporting women in business. In honor of this important day, we decided to center the second installment of the Eureeca Pitch Night series around strong female founders from the Eureeca corridor of investment.
The event, entitled Eureeca Pitch Night: Celebrating Women Entrepreneurs, served as a platform for female founders from MENA, Europe and Southeast Asia to showcase their businesses to a packed house of 100 investors at the Capital Club in Dubai.
The businesses pitching demonstrated the strength of female-led businesses and their geographic diversity embodied Eureeca’s global positioning.
After inspiring keynote address from the long-time Dubai resident and highly successful entrepreneur, Ms. Elaine Jones, the pitches began and included:
- Nur Alfayez, Co-Founder & CEO, Feesheh.com, Jordan/UAE
- Eman Hylooz, Founder, Abjjad – Jordan
- Mouna Abbassy, Co-Founder & Managing Director, Izil – UAE
- Jazz Tan, Founder, YouthsToday – Malaysia
- Jackie Fitzgerald, Founder, Homes or Houses Ltd – UK
Jackie Fitzgerald of Homes of Houses also spoke about her recent record-setting campaign on Eureeca. Home or Houses is a UK-registered business that specializes in the sourcing, renting, and management of UK property for UK expatriate and foreign national buyers. The campaign recently smashed the Eureeca record for largest raise [link to HoH blog post], securing over $600,000.
All in all the night was a great success and a testament to the value that UAE-based investors place on supporting female entrepreneurship.
We’d like to give a big shout out to all of the Event Partners who helped make the event such a success:
- Women’s Angel Investor Network (WAIN)
- Dubai Business Women Council
- Ellevate Network
- Vital Voices Global Partnership
- The Elements Group

Keep a lookout in 2016 for the next installment of the Eureeca Pitch Night series.
