They focused on building a recognisable brand that exudes positive energy and happiness and is trusted for its commitment to quality and convenience. But fruit boxes were just the beginning…
One key thing they’ve found is that people love to give tasty fruit to others, which is how their growing gifting range was born. Their #watermeloncake started trending on social media, and they now have a gifting range that is on course to add over AED 1M of revenue this year alone.
Building on that success, Fruitful Day has also expanded into healthy event catering and have a growing list of new product lines they envision for the future. They’ve also expanded they reach and are now servicing clients in four emirates. Fruitful Day’s creative marketing has earned them (organically!) 30K Instagram followers, with new followers joining daily and their DMs constantly buzzing.

“We are passionate about creating a business focused on sustainability and to ensure that we have some fun along the way. We thought a lot about the details of the business and how we can make a difference through our choices. We use recycled materials for our packaging. Our fruit is sourced in the region, with the exception of limited fruit where we feel you’ll get a better tasting product from importing from further abroad,” explains Marie-Christine Luijckx, Managing Partner, Fruitful Day.”
Plans for Growth
With a CAGR of 100% from 2015-2018, and a CAGR of 60% in 2019, the Fruitful Day team found themselves literally bursting out of their original 1300 sq ft warehouse facility in Dubai. Over the last four years, they’ve built a vertically integrated business that carries out the end-to-end process of sourcing delicious fruit; maintaining cold storage in our their facility; washing, preparing (cutting, processing, etc.) and packaging the fruit; and delivering in their own refrigerated vans. They’ve grown to a team of 20, and their staffing needs are only increasing.
Finding themselves at an inflection point in the business, and eager to capitalise on the momentum they’ve achieved to date, Fruitful Day have now moved to a new warehouse facility that is almost 5x larger than their current space.
This expansion will enable them to continue to grow their core home and office subscription verticals, aggressively grow and add more products to their gifting range and broaden their catering services. They also have an eye on exciting new and scalable product development like popsicles, smoothies, and other FMCG items that have potential scalability outside of the UAE.
